Research Operating System / ROS
Persistent, traceable and revisable Research State. ROS 1.7.2 adds context-dependent process diagrams bound to source projections, with SVG/text alternatives and separate semantic/artifact checks, to causal coverage and canonical projection.
Problem
Initial situation
Without shared identity, provenance and time semantics, individual notes, analyses and publications lose their verifiable connections.
Constraints
Boundary conditions
- Stable identities and traceable sources
- Separation of fact, inference and hypothesis
- Temporal validity and explicit scope
- Canonical data separate from outputs
- Local, exportable artifacts
Solution
Solution
ROS reconstructs the research process through research question, collection, substrate, analysis and iteration. A Common Meta-Kernel connects identity, provenance, time and artifacts. The optional systems lens formalizes topology, states, flows, inputs, delays, time scales and observation projection only after a positive Applicability Gate.
Architecture
Architecture
- Canonical JSON/JSONL/YAML
- Common Meta-Kernel
- MODE AUTO / COMPACT / FULL separate from domain scope
- SubstrateAssembly / ResearchIteration
- ActorGraph / AdversarialAssessment
- Signal / Index / NIS
- Artifact lifecycle
- Prediction / Falsifier / Validation
- Ontology Diversity
- Architecture scope / System Reading profile
- Dynamic Systems & Network Lens 1.0
- Applicability Gate / LEVEL 0–3
- Domain-System Graph ≠ Epistemic Research Graph
Result
Result
Normative release and documented promotion to ROS latest 1.7.2 on October 15, 2026. Release file hashes and global/local version mappings were checked; the promotion report records 164/164 reference tests (65 flowchart, 40 legacy, 59 resolver), not rerun here. QG-FC-01..04 extend the existing gates. Native EventHistory migration, production adapters and independent visual SVG/PDF acceptance remain UNTESTED. NIS adopts the applicable core without its own version jump; BIS remains at 0.3.1.
