Cross-Domain Perspectives on Constrained Dynamic Systems
Open Questions, Model Boundaries and Research Hypotheses
Two independently developed research paths converge on common questions: what information must a model preserve for its conclusions to hold?
Independent Paths, Shared Questions
Trajectory & Intercept Lab investigates possible state evolutions, observation and time. Drone and Aerostat originated in a civilian communications concept and developed a separate energy comparison. The connection was drawn retrospectively and is methodological, not a claim of a shared executable architecture.
H1 · Representational Sufficiency
A reduced model must retain the variables necessary for its specific conclusions. Internal consistency alone is insufficient. An open question is how to systematically identify consequential omitted state dimensions.
H2 · Reachability Before Comparison
A common comparison criterion does not yet define admissible trajectories satisfying that criterion. The question is how comparative modeling can expose hidden reachability assumptions.
H3 · Dependence on Accounting Boundaries
An advantage under a selected resource or state metric need not survive an expansion of the system boundary. The research question concerns conditions under which conclusions remain invariant to such boundary shifts.
H4 · Time Semantics as a Modeling Assumption
Fixed, variable and interval-based temporal conditions change the meaning of a terminal state or reachable set. Time is part of the logical research question, not merely a numerical parameter.
H5 · Limits of Cross-Domain Analogies
Different systems may share useful mathematical structures. Which conclusions can be transferred depends on explicit dynamics, admissible inputs and constraints; similar diagrams are not proof of transferability.
H6 · Scientific Value of Adversarial Revision
Counterexamples and alternative interpretations can sharpen research questions. Whether a particular structured workflow measurably improves reproducibility or error detection remains a separate empirical question to evaluate.
Invitation to Critique
Connections to established research, counterexamples, more precise model boundaries and independent methodological assessments are sought. The six hypotheses are proposals for discussion, not performance predictions. Even a rejected hypothesis can reveal a relevant modeling error.
