ROS 1.7.2 · Conditional Flowcharts
Conditional diagram generation, semantic validation and documented latest promotion.
Process diagrams become versioned derivatives of the research state: applicability, typed specification, SVG/text output and dedicated quality assessment. Visualization does not create additional evidence.
Changes Since 1.7.1
The additive extension Conditional Flowchart Generation & Semantic Visual Validation introduces three object types: FlowchartApplicabilityAssessment, FlowchartSpec and FlowchartBuild. The epistemic core, causal coverage, canonical materialization and QG-RS-01/QG-RT-01 remain intact. The internal ROS root/ArtifactBuild schema for new snapshots is 1.7.2; the editorial site schema is separate.
Applicability Before Diagram
REQUIRED, RECOMMENDED, OPTIONAL and NOT_APPLICABLE make materiality and rationale visible. Relevant branching decisions, gate chains, state transitions or conditional handoffs require an appropriate process representation. A simple fact or taxonomy is not forced into diagram production.
Source → Spec → Build
The specification references the UID and fingerprint of the upstream source projection. Typed nodes and labeled edges must be resolvable and reachable; decisions need distinct alternatives and loops need a bound and exit. The new state after incorporating the diagram is not retrospectively its input fingerprint.
Four Additional Gates
QG-FC-01 checks applicability, QG-FC-02 canonical derivation, QG-FC-03 process semantics and QG-FC-04 artifact integrity. SVG and a complete text alternative are part of the build; schema or XML validity does not replace visual acceptance. QG-AR-01 remains independently applicable. An attractive diagram confirms neither a hypothesis nor a physical causal chain.
From TESTBASE to Latest
The frozen TESTBASE still mapped ROS@latest to 1.7.1. The subsequent Promotion Record of October 15, 2026 and both current resolvers map ROS@latest to ROS@v1.7.2. NIS remains the combined SARM-1.1-RC1 profile with applicable ROS core 1.7.2; BIS 0.3.1 and NP-SIC 1.0.0 remain independently unchanged. Explicit 1.7.1 pins are not retrospectively upgraded.
Reported Tests & Open Evidence
Promotion QA reports 65 flowchart tests, 40 inherited tests and 59 resolver/promotion tests, 164/164 in total. This is reference testing, not proof of production event replay or external adapters. The local Graphviz reference does not guarantee cross-platform byte equivalence or provide a general SVG sanitizer. Renderer, fonts, resource limits and every published artifact require individual review.
