Meteo Lab

Interactive meteorology and atmospheric physics laboratory: completed Core v1 spans ten modules, 100 chapters and 100 chapter labs from atmospheric fundamentals to weather prediction.

01

Problem

Initial situation

Individual meteorological quantities do not explain a weather system. The atmosphere is a coupled dynamic system: thermodynamics, moisture, flow, boundary layer and clouds interact. Observations do not supply a complete state; analysis and prediction must expose measurement context, model assumptions and uncertainty.

02

Constraints

Boundary conditions

  • Educational and exploratory models, not operational weather forecasts or warnings
  • Make units, assumptions, validity ranges and numerical limits visible
  • Separate offline teaching core from external live weather data
  • Static vanilla deployment with reproducible scope-isolated PWA release
03

Solution

Solution

Ten fully integrated modules lead from atmospheric state and thermodynamics through humidity, convection and dynamics to predictability. The educational path links observation → data assimilation → model → ensemble → verification → revision. Original scientific SVGs and interactive chapter labs make assumptions and boundary cases explorable. Physical versus numerical stability, determinism versus predictability, and model versus reality remain explicitly distinct. This description is based on the supplied project document meteo_fyi.md.

Architecture

Architecture

  • Vanilla HTML/CSS/JS
  • Atmosphere → thermodynamics → humidity → stability → dynamics → synoptics
  • Boundary layer → clouds/precipitation → observation → prediction
  • 200 local scientific SVGs and 100 interactive chapter labs
  • PWA manifest and immutable offline release bundle
  • Scope-isolated cache, controlled offline error page and package status
  • C138 as technically verified Core v1 release

Result

Result

Core v1 was completed with collection C138 on September 16, 2026: ten modules, 100/100 chapters and 100/100 chapter labs. The local PWA release test documents 412 assets totaling 5,871,338 bytes, 101/101 offline-verified pages and 1,001 lab input changes. The public PWA was accessible on September 16, 2026 and served service-worker release c138. This technical testing is not scientific validation of all educational models or an operational weather forecast.
